Sacristans prepare the church for the celebration of the Mass and oversee the care of liturgical vessels, vestments, and assist the presiding clergy in the sacristy.\u00a0 The role of the Sacristan is to help the Mass run as smoothly and as prayerfully as possible from &#8220;behind the scenes.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><ul><li id=\"934E94AF_BA50_8F82_0796_A6C6DCC5005F\"><h2>\u00a0<span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: 2rem; background-color: transparent; font-style: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-style ); letter-spacing: var( --e-global-typography-text-letter-spacing ); text-transform: var( --e-global-typography-text-text-transform );\">Altar Servers<\/span><\/h2><\/li><\/ul><p>Altar Servers assist the presiding Priest in the Mass.\u00a0 They perform tasks such as lighting candles, carrying the Processional Crucifix, and holding the Presider&#8217;s ritual book.\u00a0 Young people who wish to take part in this ministry should be at least\u00a0 nine years of age and have received all three of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-842f102\" data-id=\"842f102\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2811958 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2811958\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li><h2>Eucharistic Minister<\/h2><\/li><\/ul><p>Eucharistic Ministers, by assisting the priest in distributing Holy Communion to the assembly, nourish the assembly with the gifts from the sacred table. Through our <b><i>Visitation Ministry,<\/i><\/b> this also extends to members of our community who are in hospital, long-term care facilities and homebound.\u00a0 This ministry is open to all Catholics who have been fully initiated with the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.<\/p><ul><li><h2>Lector<\/h2><\/li><\/ul><p>Lectors\u00a0bring God\u2019s Word to life at Mass, as they proclaim the Scriptures and lead the Prayers of the Faithful. They devote time to preparing and reflecting on the readings in advance, so they may be proclaimed with familiarity, reverence and love.<\/p><ul><li><h2>Music Ministry<\/h2><\/li><\/ul><p>St. Augustine said &#8220;singing is praying twice.&#8221;\u00a0 Our Music ministry has the vital task of helping animate the singing and participation of the congregation in giving glory to God in the prayer of the Mass.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><div id=\"934E94AF_BA50_8F82_0796_A6C6DCC5005F\">\u00a0<\/div><div id=\"934E94AF_BA50_8F82_0796_A6C6DCC5005F\">\u00a0<\/div><div well as other special events taking place in the church.\u00a0 This ministry, along with our Visitation ministry, allows us to reach out to members of the community who are unable to be with us in the person for the Mass or special parish events.\u00a0 Members of Team Livestream run the streaming equipment in the church and ensure the upload to our Facebook live and Youtube channels.\u00a0 being a small group helper and assisting in the set up and take down of the environment.
